Right you bunch of nerds......

I am considering spending the princely sum of £22.99 on an upgrade to my MacOS (to Snow Leopard obviously). I am currently running Tiger. Is this sensible?

That's about the long and short of it.

Cheers!

I think it's sensible to upgrade Tiger in the first instance. From what I know, Snow Leopard isn't a major upgrade from Leopard but with Macs it's always a good idea to keep the OS current. And as you will have already experienced, the MAC OS is rock solid and upgrades or rarely a problem.

MacOS?  Does that come with fries, regular soft drink and a McFlurry?

I remember when Windows 95 came out, the Mac engineers we used on contract all started wearing T'shirts with the message: "Windows 95, been there, done that, got the T'Shirt" Apple owns you.  Ner Ner

I recall the Windows 95 era very fondly.

...because I spent 95% of it still using DOS.

Three cheers for DOS!  Drunk
