Not sure. For all the love I had for Battlefield 2, I'm not sure I want to go back on a battlefield. L4D and L4D2 have made me appreciate a tight team focussed game so much that the idea of a huge open battlefield just doesn't appeal. And with BioShock 2 out next week I'm looking forward to the war that lead to the fall of Rapture.
I think I'll be waiting for the reviews and feedback on that one.

I've always loved Battlefield's open plan play but as peach is intimating it makes a decent coordinated effort quite difficult to implement. L4D sorts this issue of teamplay most definitely but for me it's just too much of a confined, repeated scenario to have any lasting interest. Probably why i am now on the verge of getting bored with Warhammer and the everlasting quest for more renown through repeated scenarios. I don't know, to be honest i don't really think one game is better than the other, it's just personal preference - they have their own identities, strengths and weaknesses. I absolutely love the chaos and freedom of a Battlefield map but i also like to feel part of a strong cohesive team that L4D provides.

I remember having a hoot running around with 4 or 5 ZTTBers in BF2 back in the day. Was good fun when we all managed to pile into a vehicle together. I think if say 10 people who all knew each other played on one side in BF it could feel like an extended L4D team, with a similar level of coordination, but getting that many people together at one time is a nightmare. Which I suppose is what L4D is catering for.

10 players?! I can see it's going to require the fanatical zeal of a WoW guild to get this one in motion. I reckon it could be pretty special if we did though.

Yeah, read a couple of articles that say the multi-player is really good. Would be keen to give it a go.

Does anybody bother with VoIP anymore? Will the in-game comm be adequate? With such massive maps, just wondering if it would be an advantage to keep team players focused.

If L4D has taught me anything, it's to leave the mic open and jabber on like an idiot.

Really looking forward to this, even if it isn't a "proper" BF game. The franchise should be moving in to 200 v 200 maps by now.

Installing this right now, I can't really be arsed getting x-fire again when i already have steam, so if anyone wants to join in I'll be contactable on that.
I'll make my in game name the same as it always is should anyone fancy adding me on to the included buddy system there.
I am disappointed this isn't BF3 I'm about to play, no denying that, however; it is battlefield, they have actually put some specific focus in to the PC version and I think it'll be worth the entry fee. I read an interview with an ex-high up manager type at DICE about 2 days ago, and apparently they have indeed been working on BF3 for years already, so don't despair entirely proper Battlefield fans.
