Anyone else who's got it/getting it then give us a shout in here if you fancy some lovely, friendly co-operative gaming at some point.  I'm on my mediocre laptop with rather slow net at home just now, but I'm flying back up to base on sunday at which point I will have my precioussss desktop and high speed connection back.. How many can we get in a team? I'd love a bit of co-op on it.

Just the 4 unfortunately, then again I'd imagine most online gamers are accustomed to that by now, heh.  I'm working gradually through the single player, which is a bit mediocre to be honest; but I suppose I've always been a fan of more heavily scripted/movie-like games so I would think that.  Tried the multi-player as well in a full on 16v16 battle, I think it's got potential but probably a few patches down the line, can't even have dedicated servers at the moment which seems plain mental to me.

So basically I think the co-op is going to be the central focus and best part of this game, the AI blokes aren't too bad, don't get themselves killed too often and do help you out a bit, but they're rubbish with vehicles and don't seem to like being in cover.  Hence (especially with relation to vehicles) I think playing with 4 people will be far superior, also personally I don't have the patience to properly break down my 4 man fire team and use suppression + flank or attack from multiple angles because the radial menu is gamepad oriented and therefore slow and shite; will be much better with 4 humans.

I know it's old now, but did anyone else pick this up in the steam sale? I'd look forward to some co-op with friendly chaps I know in either Opflash or Arma II.

I do indeed still have it, and never actually finished it so I'd be happy to give this a go.  To be honest the squad mate AI isn't very good so I'd imagine co-op is the key to this game.

I got it cheap on Steam too.  I'd be up for some, if I can tear myself away from BFBC2

Anyone free for a go tonight then? Headsets are probably critical.

Through the magic of Steam I can see Peachy, Beats and plughead have Opflash2 so if we can get two of those criminals we're all set!

Can't do tonight I'm afraid.
A quick note though: Use the Steam chat VOIP for audio communications. The in game VOIP is shit.

Cheers for the tip fuzzy, that tends to apply quite often I find, it was the same with MW2.  That and sometimes you just want to chat to your buddies and not have the whole server listening to you...

I've just installed 1.02, what does it say in the bottom left corner of the main menu when you guys run the game?

We're rescheduling this for Wednesday night, if anyone is interested. I'll be home and ready about 20:00

Skids up at 8 then.

I do hope some of the missions involve more vehicles than I've generally seen in the campaign so far, because hanging out the side of the blackhawk was easily the most fun I ever had in BF2.
