After a couple of month's badgering and insincere cajoling from some old friends of mine, I've transferred
Taidan to Doomhammer to play in a self proclaimed "Hardcore Guild", which is something I'd sworn I'd never do again after the "Vanilla WoW" days.
Oddly enough, I'm actually loving it, it's totally rekindled my interest in WoW again. There's something to be said for spending two or three whole evenings wiping on a single bastard-hard boss, and the sense of achievement when you finally down the f**ker. It's as good as it was in the "Good Old Days", when we were doing the same thing in Blackwing Lair.
Doomhammer is like an absolute paradise after suffering Runetotem for so long. There aren't any Italians there, for one, and the Horde owns Wintergrasp most of the time even though they're outnumbered by the Alliance by about 50%. Attitudes seem just a little bit better all around.
It helps that the Guild are actually quite nice guys, they're really relaxed compared to the last couple I was in, and those Guilds didn't even have the performance to match their stinky attitudes. The guild,
AIAO, have currently done 9 of the 12 hardmode ICC25 bosses, but since I've joined the action late I've only done four of those myself, (from the second half of the instance, of course) and I've somehow managed to be working for every single Lich King kill since I joined. (I'm on all days for the next couple of weeks, so I will get my Kingslayer title this week, damnit!)
I'm working on getting my own Shadowmourne for my off-spec too. I've got all of the quest items, but I'm torn between dumping all of my hard-saved gold for the materials for an awesome Axe that'll be obsolete in 6 months, or saving it for whatever the big gold-sink will be in Cataclysm.
Apart from that, I've been locked in a cycle of being unable to decide which class to choose for a new Alt., and whether to start now and see the old world one more time or to wait until the expansion.
